Welcome · Our Philosophy

Restored to disappear into the original.

Architectural timber deteriorates with time. Whether on a Listed Georgian terrace or a Victorian church, the right technique can return what was lost without erasing what remains.

From our workshop near Holmfirth we restore, replicate, and preserve timber details for buildings across the UK. Window frames. Staircases. Doors. Furniture. Each piece matched to what already lives in the building.

Daniel welcomes the smallest repair as warmly as the largest restoration. The first conversation is always free.

Meet the Master Craftsman

Daniel Fitzpatrick

Founder · Member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen

Daniel has spent three decades at the lathe and the bench. He apprenticed in Yorkshire, opened his first workshop in his twenties, and has worked on heritage joinery for buildings the length of the country ever since.

Traditional woodturning and cabinet making are quieter trades than they once were. The skills are slower to learn, the work harder to find. Daniel sees that as a reason to hold on to them, not a reason to let them fade.

He oversees every project personally, from a single wood-turned spindle to a full architectural commission. The first call is unhurried and free.

We have become keepers of the knowledge.

Our Process

From inspection to installation.

Four stages, carried out by one pair of hands, from our Honley workshop.

  1. IStage I of 4

    Inspection

Every project begins with an on-site examination. We assess the timber, agree the scope, and where needed remove pieces with care for repair at the workshop.

    Stage 1
  2. IIStage II of 4

    Restoration

Paint and coatings are stripped, decay treated, and matched timbers sourced. Replacement parts are then woodturned or bench-joined to fit the original.

    Stage 2
  3. IIIStage III of 4

    Refinishing

New parts are decorated to match the original. Existing ironmongery is reused wherever possible. All metalwork is stripped and recoated in-house.

    Stage 3
  4. IVStage IV of 4

    Installation

Each component is treated against weather and wear, then set in place to sound conservation practice. Left to last another generation.

    Stage 4

Ecology & Environment

Made to last, then to return.

Every piece is built from FSC-certified timber or locally reclaimed wood. New wood comes from professionally managed forests. Old wood gets a second life, here in the workshop.

What we make is built to last a lifetime, then to be repaired, renovated or up-cycled. At the end of life every piece is fully bio-degradable, leaving nothing behind.

Workshop offcuts are recycled too, into sawdust and kindling. Nothing wasted on the bench.
